Harold Vivian Fish
23rd May 2023
Mr GREG PIPER (Lake Macquarie)—I'd like to congratulate Harold Vivian Fish - affectionately known as Viv - on his 100th birthday. Viv is a valued member of the Cooranbong community who, despite becoming a centenarian on May 7, continues to work two days per week at Cooranbong Community Centre. He is also an active member of Avondale Memorial Church where he has many behind-the-scenes jobs. He recently read the Ode at the Dora Creek Anzac Day service for the third consecutive year, and once again marched with pride while adorned with his medals. Viv joined the army when he was 18 and served in the Second Field Ambulance Regiment for approximately four years. In 1951 he married Dulcie Sheppard. They lived in Victoria and had two children Russell and Ann before Dulcie sadly passed away in 1966. Years later Viv found love again and married Bobbie-Mae Johanson in 1980 and moved to Lake Macquarie. He spent 38 wonderful years with Bobbie-May before she sadly passed away. To date Viv has two children, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, in addition to his even bigger step-family.
I salute him on his 100th birthday!
