Mr GREG PIPER (Lake Macquarie)—I'd like to extend my sympathies to the family and friends of Gary Stephen Drummond, a much-loved member of the Lake Macquarie community and treasured life member of Macquarie Scorpions Rugby League Club. Gary was a long-term Scorpions player who was on the winning side when the club's reserve grade defeated Western Suburbs at the Number 1 Sports Ground in 1974. Even after hanging up his boots, Gary continued to work with the club as a trainer and manager for many years. He also played with the Dora Creek and West Wallsend clubs before retirement. Gary also worked tirelessly as a wellbeing officer with the Men of League Foundation, showing compassion and support to past players and their families who were doing it tough. Gary was the dearly loved husband of the late Lynne Drummond, and the loving father and father-in law of Stephen and Gina, Louise, Dianne and Brian. He was the brother and brother-in-law of Trevor and Lorraine and partner of Susie, as well as a grandfather and great-grandfather. I send my condolences to Gary's family, friends and all at Macquarie Scorpions. Vale Gary Drummond.
