Bronwyn Markham

Mr GREG PIPER (Lake Macquarie)—I'd like to recognise the invaluable achievements of Bronwyn Markham, but sadly extend my deepest sympathies to her family because Bronwyn recently lost her battle with cancer. Bronwyn was a beloved member of the Lake Macquarie community and an integral member of Hunter Mountain Bike Association, and a St John Ambulance race support person. Her fellow riders in the mountain biking community remember her as an extraordinarily caring lady who always gave up her time to help others. They will dearly miss her bright personality, smiling face and caring ways. Bronwyn was herself an accomplished mountain bike rider having competed in many races, including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter charity rides and Port to Port events. She provided professionalism and comfort to those who sustained injuries during races. Bronwyn was extremely generous with her time and volunteered with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service and Hunter Horse Rescue. However, her biggest loves were her four children Jaime, Chard, Tracy and Markham along with her grandchildren and dogs. She was larger than life, unique, energetic and happy. She meant so much to so many and was fondly referred to as Nana Bron.
Vale Bronwyn Markham.
