Riley Dodson

Mr GREG PIPER (Lake Macquarie)—I would like to congratulate Riley Dodson from Toronto High School after being selected to take part in the Young Endeavour Scheme. 17-year-old Riley is currently sailing from Newcastle to Brisbane aboard the STS Young Endeavour on an 11-day journey, that will help him to develop leadership, resilience, teamwork and initiative skills. Riley's voyage was made possible after he secured a scholarship from Lake Macquarie City Council, after impressing a panel of judges with his honesty passion and enthusiasm. Riley is looking forward to pushing himself in a challenging environment and the Young Endeavour Scheme will certainly provide that opportunity. Participants in the internationally recognised youth development program are taught how to become a better team player, a more effective communicator and a leader while also manning a square-rigged tall ship. I wish Riley all the best with his journey.
