A special piece of history at Rathmines

A very special piece of history is now on display at Rathmines.
The life-story, war medals and portrait of the late Flying Officer John Fisher from the 212 Squadron R.A.F who flew Catalinas in World War 2 has gone up in the Rathmines Catalina Lakefront Retreat.
Today I joined his widow, 95-year-old Gaye Fisher, sons Mark and Nigel, along with Max Ward and David Hagen who inspected it for the first time.
Max restored the photo and cleaned the medals while David and Heather put it all together.
