Alton Road/Freemans Drive intersection upgrade

With works well under way at the Alton Road/Freemans Drive intersection upgrade in Cooranbong, here's a look at the project update.

A traffic island will be installed along Freemans Drive, opposite the entry to Waratah Medical Services and The Elephant Shop, in August which will permanently affect entry and exit options to this location for vehicles.

There will be no right turn allowed for southbound traffic to enter the car park at 67 Freemans Drive, and no right turn allowed to join southbound traffic when departing.

This work will take about four weeks to complete and will improve traffic flow and safety for motorists and pedestrians.

Users of public transport should note bus stops and shelters on Alton Road have been relocated by about 50m - to the northern end of the shopping complex - to improve accessibility.

 The car park servicing the Alton Road shopping precinct has been renovated, with new traffic flow measures and car parking now in effect.
