Ssssssomething unusual in the office today.
Meet Lemon the Green Tree Python, one of Australia's rarest snakes. Native to the Cape York Peninsula in tropical Far North Qld.
Kira and Chris from @Jabiru Wildlife brought in this beautiful specimen to discuss their passion for education and wildlife conservation. We talked about Jabiru's fantastic school and community education programs that highlight the beauty and fragility of our native wildlife.
Today they shared with me their dreams of securing a site in Lake Macquarie to open a wildlife park dedicated to the care, conservation and protection of our unique native wildlife. Not only would this be a great opportunity for education and conservation, but also a fantastic tourism drawcard that I would love to see in Lake Macquarie!
