New Women's Refuge for Lake Macquarie

NEW Women's Refuge to be built in Lake Macquarie!

Today I joined the Minister Jodie Harrison MP, Minister for Women and for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault to make an important announcement for Lake Macquarie.

Jenny's Place Domestic Violence & Homelessness Support in partnership with Housing Plus and supported by more than $5.9 million in state funding, we will be building a brand new refuge in Lake Macquarie. The Lake Macquarie site will be one of 27 domestic violence refuges the government will be delivering to regional communities across NSW.

Jenny's Place is a locally-based service that has been providing direct relief to women and children escaping domestic violence since 1977 helping to break the cycle of violence and abuse. The new site will accommodate up to 5 families and 4 single women in 9 new fully self-contained units.
