Toronto Tigers Baseball Club
28th November 2023
Mr GREG PIPER (Lake Macquarie)—I would like to congratulate the Toronto Tigers Baseball Club on a remarkable season, that just so happened to coincide with the club's 75th anniversary. The Toronto Tigers Baseball Club was originally founded in 1948 and since then has been a valuable community sports club in the Lake Macquarie area, and taught generations of locals about the skills of the game. The fact the club has such a long and proud history is testament to the high regard in which it's held. As with so many community sports club, the Toronto Tigers Baseball Club is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who dedicate countless hours to the running of the clubs and to games on weekends where everyone from its coaches, umpires, groundskeepers and canteen workers pitch into help; all under the guidance of club president Josh Van Eynde. I was lucky enough to be asked by the club to throw the first ceremonial pitch of the year to mark the start of the first-grade season. I would like to congratulate the club's second grade who came away with both the Major and Minor 2023 Premierships. Go the Tigers!
