HAVE YOUR SAY - Short-Term Rental Accommodation (STRA) in NSW
The NSW Government have released a discussion paper seeking community input with a four-week public consultation period ending 14 March 2024.
Feedback is being sought on:
• The adequacy of STRA planning and regulatory framework, and options for improvement.
• Potential policy options, including measures to incentivise property investors to make properties available for long-term rental accommodation.
Building approvals and construction have slowed while build costs have skyrocketed.
Rental vacancies are low with more than 55,000 people on the waitlist for social housing.
All options are on the table:
- Support for local communities, the visitor economy and jobs
- Addressing the homelessness, housing and rental crisis.
The NSW Government looks forward to seeing extensive feedback from industry as well as the community.
