Lake Macquarie Storms

It sure was a wild night of storms around Lake Macquarie last night.

Thank you to all our wonderful emergency service and NSW SES volunteers who worked hard to clean up the damage overnight and are still on the ground today.

Ausgrid have advised that over 9,500 customers lost power overnight. While the power has been restored to 8000 customers, there are still 1,500 customers across the Hunter region without power this morning.

Ausgrid emergency crews have been on the scene throughout the night and are still working to restore electricity supply to the remaining affected customers.

If you see fallen powerlines always assume they are live and stay at least 8m away. Call Ausgrids emergency lines on 13 13 88 to report them and call 000 if you see a life threatening situation.
