Origin Coal Supply Deal

It’s a huge relief for miners of Centennial’s Myuna and Mandalong Collieries, and their families, that an agreement has been made to supply coal for the next 6 months to Eraring Power Station.

This is welcome news, especially as Myuna was specifically built to supply coal to Eraring. It’s only fair the miners are given the same opportunity to prepare for career changes as has been afforded to Eraring workers.

This provides some security to workers while a longer-term contract can be negotiated.

I will continue to support any arrangement where local jobs are kept while the Eraring Power Station remains operational.
