You can understand why nurses and midwives across NSW are frustrated by their workplace conditions.
Our nurses and midwives are earning 20% less than their counterparts in Queensland, and under the current award don't even have the guaranteed right to two consecutive rostered days off.
Their published rosters can also be changed without prior consultation of the staff member impacted.
It's not just about the money, we need our nurses to feel valued and be given wages and conditions that show our respect for the profession.
Unfortunately, it's not surprising that many nurses and midwives are leaving NSW to take jobs in Queensland and Victoria.
