Unveiling the Mariyung Train Fleet
03rd December 2024
Getting the new Mariyung fleet onto the tracks has been a long and frustrating process. But today was the dawn of a new era for Transport for NSW with the first Mariyung train making its maiden voyage from Newcastle to Sydney.
I was lucky enough to be on board for the start of the journey, and I've got to say I think commuters will be very happy with the level of comfort, access to modern facilities such as phone charging ports and safety upgrades these new trains deliver. They also offer unparalleled accessibility for those living with disability.
Also on board was Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Jenny Aitchison MP, Member for Gosford Liesl Tesch MP, Member for Newcastle Tim Crakanthorp MP and Member for Wyong David Harris MP.
