"Lung Bus" visits Rathmines
01st April 2025
Earlier this year I had the chance to take a tour through the new $2.5 million icare NSW "Lung Bus", at its ribbon cutting ceremony outside of the Parliament of NSW.
The mobile lung health clinic has begun its inaugural road trip around the state, and it was fantastic to see it at Rathmines Park this morning.
This year, more than 5,000 workers in rural NSW are expected to board the bus for free lung health checks - for dust related diseases including those caused by silica and asbestos.
The need for this service is real. The lung bus will spend 3 days in Lake Macquarie but all appointments have been completely booked out.
Information on the Lung Bus, including appointment bookings and its 2025 schedule can be found HERE
