Southlakes U3A Celebrates 10 years

Congratulations Southlakes U3A on your 10th anniversary!

It has been an honour to be your Patron over the years, and have a small role in this mighty volunteer run organisation.

During their birthday celebrations I was treated to some sensational performances by the Red Dove Choir, Strumming the Strings and Harmony Group.

I have to give special recognition to Southlakes U3A Founding President Laurene Mulcahy who is a huge reason behind the group's success, with 347 members now enrolled.

Lake Macquarie has the fastest growing over 55 population in the state, and to have an organisation like Southlakes U3A that provides the opportunity for people aged over 55 years, retired or semi-retired to learn new skills, forge friendships and look after their physical and mental health is wonderful.
