I often get asked about how to apply for State Government grants and what funding is available for local organisations.

To help Lake Macquarie-based groups have the best chance at securing funding, I’m hosting a Community Grant Writing Workshop on August 1 at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility at Speers Point.

This workshop is ideal for any charities, not-for-profit groups, sporting clubs, historical societies, schools, multicultural or arts groups which are interested in discovering the types of grants available and how to prepare and submit grant applications.

Lead by Keith Whelan the workshop will cover:
¿ What funding exists and how you can use it to support your organisation
¿ Grants project plan
¿ Grants budget
¿ Grant writing dos and don’ts
¿ Practical writing tips
¿ Creating templates for standard application questions
¿ Creating a grants calendar
¿ Grants acquittal, auditing and evaluation
¿ Writing a business case
¿ Report writing, funding acquittals and evaluation
¿ Establishing community capacity building
