I congratulate Emma-Sue Greentree on her latest international success at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. After a win over her Indian rival, she won the women's 75kg middleweight event to receive the gold medal. Emma-Sue is a proud Hunter athlete who is a two-time Australian national champion. Her accolades include winning Bronze at the 2023 IBA World Amateur Boxing Championships in New Delhi, bronze at the 2025 World Boxing Championships in Liverpool and she now has the gold to add to her collection.
Growing up in the Hunter Emma-Sue's journey began as a talented heptathlete at the age of 16, winning medals at National Championships and was part of the athletics program at Hunter Sports High School. Her athletics career ended due to an injury sustained playing rugby in year 11 and she decided to pursue boxing in 2017.
