State budget announcement supports Domestic and Family Violence services
Today’s State Budget announced an additional $184.1 million in funding over the next four years for frontline domestic and family violence (DFV) services. This represents the largest funding increase in decades.
Earlier this month, I spoke out about the urgent need for more funding: https://shorturl.at/Dz5vM
Frontline DFV services have not been able to meet the growing demand in our communities. This investment means greater access to safety planning, counselling, case management, and support. In short, this funding will save lives.
I am proud to have worked with Independent Members of the Legislative Assembly to help secure this funding commitment and commend the local specialist services and workers supporting Lake Macquarie.
