It is with great respect and dedication to my community I announce my run for re-election in the 2027 NSW State Election for the seat of Lake Macquarie.
For 35 years I have proudly represented Lake Macquarie as an independent in public office, first as a local Councillor and your Mayor and, since 2007, as State Member. As your Member of Parliament, I am proud to have pushed for local priorities for almost two decades.
Lake Macquarie needs a firm hand on the wheel to ensure our transition from a collection of quiet towns and villages to a centre of development, diversification, investment and opportunity is smooth, fair and supports the priorities of our people.
As an Independent I use my voice to promote priorities specific to Lake Macquarie, including more public healthcare in southern Lake Macquarie, protection of our natural environment, investment in essential infrastructure for our rapidly growing community, and support for workers and our local economy as the energy transition gathers pace.
This will be the final time I will throw my hat in the ring and I hope this will also present an opportunity to work on a succession plan to keep the seat of Lake Mac independent.
I will continue to deliver my best and thank my community for your trust in me as your representative. I intend to carry through my passion, commitment and love for our region and bring my wealth of local knowledge to the table to strive for the success of our Lake Mac.
