After major repairs and refurbishments following the 2019 fire that devastated this iconic Lake Macquarie landmark, the doors are finally open again from today.

Representatives from Lake Macquarie City Council and members of the community watched as Cr Adam Shultz, Lake Macquarie Mayor, along with four former Mayors (myself included) cut the ribbon on Friday.

I was pleased to attend with my lovely wife Lyn to see the new cafe, restaurant and function space.

I look forward to visiting again soon and wish the team all the success as they take on this new chapter in the life of Awaba House.
