Incredible news for the future of Lake Macquarie industry.
This morning, I welcomed the Premier Chris Minns, Ministers and regional MPs to West Wallsend Colliery, where it was announced Teralba is the preferred location to reintroduce train manufacturing in the Hunter.
This site offers unmatched scale, connectivity and proximity to the Hunter’s skilled workforce.
Choosing Teralba is choosing in invest in the future of the Hunter. The Future Fleet Facility will be an anchor investment at the site, bringing in other manufacturers, protecting our skilled workforce, creating jobs for our kids, growing local suppliers and strengthening NSW’s sovereign capability.
Today’s announcement is not just fantastic news for Lake Macquarie. It is great for the region and benefits the whole State.
I thank Lake Macquarie City Council and Dantia Lake Macquarie for joining with me to advocate for this site, and the NSW Government for making a decision which allows the Hunter to thrive into the future.
