I congratulate the dedicated team of volunteers behind NourishEd Australia on reaching a significant milestone, namely the first anniversary since opening their doors in Toronto. Under the leadership of Directors, Nicholas Cade and Jeremy Eastham, NourishEd has secured it's standing as an essential service in the Lake Macquarie area. Nick and Jeremy volunteer full time to keep the grass roots organisation up, running and growing. Through their open-access pantry, free meal service, community cafe, and library, the NourishEd team have provided food relief, community connection, and dignity to hundreds, if not thousands of people across the region over the past 12 months.
NourishEd has not only provided food to fill hungry tummies, but also solace for the lonely, a safe space for the vulnerable and a compassionate ear for anyone doing it tough. Following this amazing progress, their plans for Recovery Groups and Education are destined for success. The success and growth of this service is testament to the passion and dedication of the volunteers. I wish NourishEd a very happy first birthday and look forward to many more years of this hub of help making a real difference in our community.
