Lake Macquarie City Council will soon begin works to upgrade the Wyee Road and Alliance Avenue intersection
The eastern end of Alliance Avenue will be closed to all traffic at the Wyee Road intersection from Mid-August for about 16 weeks. The closure will allow for construction of a new roundabout and expedite a return to normal traffic conditions.
A left turn lane will be made available off Wyee Road for northbound traffic entering the Pearl Energy service station.
All industrial estate traffic will be required to enter and exit the area via The Gateway Boulevarde off Mandalong Road while these works are being completed.
Advanced warning signs, traffic controls and video message displays will be used to inform motorists of the upcoming changes.
Understandably some businesses may be opposed to the temporary closure due to potential impact on their business due to access changes. All businesses within the industrial precinct neighbouring the intersection are invited to provide feedback via letter and the online feedback form linked below. Council is working closely with impacted stakeholders to ensure mutually agreeable outcomes.
